Software Whitelisting Request
To: IT Security / Compliance Team
Executive Summary
I am requesting approval to use Solite (or deploy the self-hosted Enterprise version). It is a suite of browser-based utilities (PDF tools, converters, formatters) that runs 100% client-side. Unlike cloud-based alternatives (e.g., iLovePDF, CloudConvert), Solite does not upload data to any server.
Technical Architecture
- • Type: Static Web Application (HTML/JS/WASM)
- • Data Transit: None (Zero-Data-Transit)
- • Processing: Local CPU via WebAssembly
- • Persistence: None (In-memory only)
- • External Calls: None (after initial load)
Compliance & Risk
- • GDPR/CCPA: Out of Scope (No data processing by vendor)
- • DLP Risk: Null (No upload endpoints)
- • Tracking: Zero Analytics (Enterprise Version)
- • Source Code: Available for Audit
Business Justification
Current security policies block common cloud tools required for my daily workflows (e.g., merging PDFs, converting images, formatting JSON). This creates a bottleneck and forces inefficient workarounds.
Whitelisting Solite (or deploying the offline container) allows me to perform these tasks securely without violating DLP policies or risking data exfiltration.
How to Verify (For Security Engineers)
- Open
solite.in(or the enterprise build). - Open Developer Tools > Network Tab.
- Perform a sensitive action (e.g., upload a PDF).
- Observe: Zero outbound network requests are made during processing.
- Disconnect Internet/WiFi and observe full functionality (Offline Mode).
